Founding Thoughts & Trajectory

Thank you for visiting this page.

Why was Ayumi founded?
We will talk about the value we want to provide to the world.

Trajectory

Challenges felt during travels and dining with my cousin who uses a wheelchair.
The wishes and thoughts my grandmother, who had severe rheumatoid arthritis, held in her daily life.

I wanted to create a society that could solve these two challenges.

The harsh conditions of stores and businesses that I painfully realized in my career.
I have seen many companies go bankrupt, including acquaintances.

My cousin's and late grandmother's thoughts and wishes
The thoughts and wishes shared with me by business owners on the verge of bankruptcy

I pondered endlessly on what I could do to make a better society.

And so, I started the "Barrier-Free Certification" and "Barrier-Free Information Site".

Turning "Inability" into "Value"

The origin of my founding lies in the presence of my cousin who uses a wheelchair.
And a certain word left by my grandmother.

The challenges they faced drove me forward.

The Day I Felt the Barrier

The first trip with my cousin after he started using a wheelchair.
I experienced things I had never encountered before.

The barrier created by society where barrier-free information is not readily available online.

At the hotel, the staff were unaware of the availability of barrier-free accommodations, and the "indifference" that forms a mental barrier.

Seeing this barrier as a "disability," I realized that solving this challenge is essential for the future of society.

Words Left by My Late Grandmother

When I was inspired to start a business after feeling the challenges during a trip with my cousin, I remembered something.
My late grandmother, who lost her job at a young age due to severe rheumatoid arthritis, once said to me.

"Someday, I want to travel and dine out with the money I earned myself."

I resolved to realize the society my late grandmother envisioned.

Why Am I Doing This?

It doesn't matter if one is disabled or not.
There is value that only each individual can bring.

There may be a world that only those involved can understand.

However, I can also understand the feelings of those who are with them.
There is value in things that only companions or caregivers can understand.

That's why I am doing this.

I will change the world that people with disabilities see.

Why I Lived a Life in a Wheelchair

Through interviews with those involved, I felt that the troubles of living in a wheelchair are diverse.

Do I really understand the people who live in wheelchairs?

Can just listening to their stories become the driving force to change the society I want to change?

I started to think that way.

Having been taught that "reform and change begin with overwhelming experience," I borrowed a wheelchair from my cousin to understand as many challenges as possible, and lived in a wheelchair for four months.

What Kind of Future Will We Create?

Japan will become a super-aging society.

It is expected that physical functions will decline, opportunities to go out will decrease, and employment will become harder to come by.

We must change such a Japan.

Even when we lost the war, we have the present thanks to the predecessors who kept looking forward without lamenting the current situation.

We believe that we need to face the super-aging society and transform employment for people with disabilities and the store industry in a new way.

There must be something that Japan can contribute to the world.

I will explore that with this corporation.

Not "because of disability, we can't," but "because of disability, we can."
We want to create such a concept as well.
